Caleb joined the Northeast Iowa Management team in 2024 as the Natural Resources Biologist for the Decorah District. He manages coldwater and warmwater streams and lakes, investigates fish kills, and works with private landowners to manage private land for public fishing in an eight-county area. Prior to this, Caleb spent 22 years as a Natural Resource Technician working at Decorah Fish Hatchery as well as doing research on the Mississippi River and large reservoirs. During that time, Caleb assisted in the production of trout and research efforts to improve the management of Iowa’s fisheries. Caleb holds a Bachelors in Conservation Ecology from Upper Iowa University.
Who We Are
Hawkeye Fly Fishing Association (HFFA) holds events and provides resources for people interested in fly fishing, fly tying and fish habitat conservation. We are an Iowa-based affiliate of Fly Fishers International.
